New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson isn't the only member of the team to suffer a recent injury scare.
Patriots quarterback and MVP runner-up Drake Maye took an accidental hit from edge rusher Bradyn Swinson on Thursday afternoon, causing head coach Mike Vrabel to end the mandatory minicamp practice early.
New England wide receiver A.J. Brown (who caught a touchdown pass from Maye on the play in question) discussed the situation after practice.
"No, that’s not okay," Brown said, according to Patriots beat writer Mark Daniels of MassLive.com. "Nobody should be on the ground in practice. That’s my rule. If anybody is on the ground, that’s a bad practice. It doesn’t matter who it is. Nobody should be on the ground. But he delivered a great pass, so I was excited. So I’m glad he’s okay."
Multiple Patriots insiders, including ESPN's Mike Reiss and the Boston Herald's Andrew Callahan reported Thursday afternoon that Maye appeared ok following the collision.
