How the Gamecocks performed in the Ufl this season

A handful of former South Carolina players have wrapped up their season in the UFL, which ends on Saturday with the championship game.

Three Gamecocks in running back Zaquandre White and defensive backs Cam Smith and O'Donnell Fortune teamed up on the Columbus Aviators. Captain Munnerlyn also served as the Aviators' defensive coordinator.

In his third season in the UFL, White rushed for 275 yards and four touchdowns on 67 carries in nine games played. He also tallied 17 receptions for 96 yards. White handled kickoff return duties for the Aviators as he totaled 237 yards on nine returns.

Smith spent his first season in the UFL and was credited with 10 total tackles with one being for loss while breaking up two passes in six games played.

In his first year with the Aviators, Fortune recorded 14 tackles while breaking up four passes and intercepting one.

Defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth spent his second season in the UFL with the St. Louis Battlehawks and logged 17 tackles with two being for loss and 1.5 sacks.

In his two years at South Carolina, White carried the ball 104 times for 642 yards with two rushing touchdowns. He also caught 21 passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns.

Smith was a second-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in the 2023 NFL Draft. In two seasons with the Dolphins, he played in 21 games and totaled 18 tackles. In his four seasons in Columbia, Smith recorded 91 tackles, 24 pass breakups and six interceptions.

After a strong final season at South Carolina in 2024, Fortune signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent before signing with the Aviators for this season. In his career in the garnet and black, Fortune tallied 108 total tackles, 16 pass breakups and seven interceptions with a touchdown.
