Chelsea forward João Pedro has reportedly agreed personal terms with Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window, but any potential deal remains far from certain as the Premier League club continue to insist the Brazilian is not for sale.
Reports emerging from Spain and England claim that the 24-year-old has given the green light to a move to the Catalan giants after becoming one of Barcelona’s leading attacking targets for the 2026-27 season.
According to multiple reports, sporting director Deco has identified Pedro as a priority option as the club plans for life after veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.
The latest speculation suggests Pedro has already agreed the framework of a contract with Barcelona and would welcome a move to Camp Nou if the two clubs can reach an agreement. Sources in Spain have reported that the player is keen on the transfer and could push for negotiations to progress during the summer window.
However, CHELSEA‘s stance remains the biggest obstacle. The Blues are understood to regard Pedro as a cornerstone of their long-term project following an impressive debut campaign at Stamford Bridge. The Brazilian scored 20 goals in all competitions and was one of the club’s standout performers during a difficult season.
Recent reports have suggested Chelsea would reject even extraordinary offers for the striker, with club officials repeatedly stressing that Pedro is not available for transfer.
Some outlets have claimed the London side would not entertain discussions regardless of the fee involved, while others have suggested a valuation in excess of €100 million would be required to even begin talks.
Barcelona’s pursuit comes after difficulties in their attempts to sign other attacking targets, including Atlético Madrid forward Julián Álvarez. With alternatives proving complicated or too expensive, Pedro has reportedly moved to the top of the club’s shortlist.
Despite the growing speculation, several reports maintain that CHELSEA expect Pedro to remain at Stamford Bridge next season. The forward is under a long-term contract and is viewed as a key figure in the plans of the club’s hierarchy.
As the transfer window approaches, Barcelona’s interest appears genuine, but turning an apparent agreement with the player into a completed transfer could prove significantly more difficult.
