Manchester United are set to seal their first incoming transfer of the summer and this can now impact Nottingham Forest.
Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered how Tuesday was a vital day regarding Ederson’s move to Old Trafford. A meeting was scheduled between the Red Devils and Atalanta and they were expected to close the deal on that day.
The Brazil international’s agent has already confirmed that an agreement in principle exists between the two clubs. Casemiro has played a key role in this, having recommended the player to Manchester United.
Ederson was called up to the national side for the World Cup, replacing wing-back Wesley, and is having quite the summer.
There are updates in Italy and they also involve Nottingham Forest.
Atalanta taking advantage of sale
Corriere dello Sport look at Atalanta’s transfers, clarifying that Ederson ‘has signed’ for Manchester United already. The deal will go through and be confirmed once the World Cup ends in July.
The finances aren’t mentioned but this will be a big boost for La Dea.
They can lose Marco Palestra to Inter Milan and they now see Nottingham Forest’s Nicolo Savona as a replacement. The Italian is one of the most attractive prospects on their shortlist, having come through Juventus’ youth academy.
Previously, initial contact for the right-back has been made. SportItalia have made it clear that a deal is possible, with the Midlands club having expressed an openness to his exit after just a season.
Nottingham Forest shouldn’t hesitate
The way things have gone for Savona, there is no guarantee over his fitness at all. He missed a big chunk of the season due to a knee injury and even in his early days at Juve, he had a major knee operation. This has led to several muscle injuries across his career.
That is why Nottingham Forest should seriously consider his sale. Vitor Pereira didn’t use him too much when he was fit anyway.
So Atalanta are bringing money in on Ederson and will then use this for Savona.
