Liverpool have already “agreed personal terms” with Jarell Quansah if they decide to trigger his buyback clause, according to reports.
Writing for the Liverpool Echo, journalist Paul Gorst confirmed that the Bayer Leverkusen defender has a contract in principle waiting to be signed in the event he returns to Anfield.

Quansah moved to Germany for £35m last year, having struggled to make an impression under Arne Slot in the Dutchman’s first season in charge.
However, he played well enough for Leverkusen to secure himself a spot in England’s squad for the World Cup.
How much would it cost to bring Quansah back this summer?
Gorst claims that the buyback option is worth £55m, but there are different numbers depending on the source you read.
German tabloid Bild say the figure for 2026 was €80m (£69m), but it drops to €60m (£52m) next year.
Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has claimed the clause for this summer has already expired. It was open until the end of May.
There was no chance Liverpool would have paid close to £70m for Quansah when they were still negotiating a deal to extend the contract of Ibrahima Konate until a couple of weeks ago.

Will Liverpool sign another centre-back?
Currently, the only target that has been mentioned by a reliable source is Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke. The Telegraph revealed last week that the Reds and Chelsea are “interested” in the Netherlands international, along with Tottenham.
However, Spurs have already made several bids for the defender, and he is said to be keen on linking up with his former manager, Roberto De Zerbi.
There is a possibility that Andoni Iraola‘s side could make a late move to hijack the deal, but it seems the Merseysiders are prioritising forwards.
