Besiktas have made an offer for Abdul Fatawu, according to a report in Turkiye.
Turkish outlet Milliyet, based in Istanbul, claim the Super Lig outfit want to take the Leicester City winger on a loan deal with a option to buy permanently.
The report claims Besiktas are ‘pushing hard’ to close the deal in their search for reinforcements on both wings – a quest it is claimed also has them targeting Jadon Sancho after his release from Manchester United.
Milliyet claim City are considering the offer and that if they knock it back, the Black Eagles will return with a bid of €15million to buy the 22-year-old outright.
Fatawu is currently away with the Ghana squad at the World Cup and having had a sub-par campaign with the Foxes will be looking to end his season on a high. That begins against Panama on Wednesday, June 17, before they face England on Tuesday, June 23 and Croatia on Saturday, June 27.
Fatawu was a key part of Enzo Maresca’s team that won promotion to the Premier League in 2024 but his impact in the top flight was negated by a serious injury. He had bright moments last term but did not provide the consistent quality that would have helped the club retain its Championship status.
He is expected to be one of several players sold to help City finance their bid to win promotion from League One, with fellow winger Jeremy Monga a target for Arsenal.
