Liverpool finally confirm 3 more staff leave after Arne Slot sacked

Arne Slot‘s sacking has been followed by the departures of three more Liverpool coaches, with the club finally confirming their exit two weeks later.

Slot has been followed out of Liverpool by assistants Sipke Hulshoff, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ruben Peeters.

Their departure was widely expected after early reports in the Netherlands but had not been confirmed by the club until Friday morning.

An official update has since announced the Dutch trio will leave, with first-team tactical analyst Roderick van der Ham also understood to have vacated his position.

This comes following the appointment of Andoni Iraola as Liverpool head coach, with the Spaniard due to be joined by a number of his staff from Bournemouth.

Who will replace Arne Slot’s staff?

Talks have been underway over deals for assistants Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper as well as analyst Tom Webber.

Unlike fitness coach Pablo de la Torre – who is also likely to arrive as part of Iraola’s new backroom team at Liverpool – Elphick, Cooper and Webber are under contract and therefore Bournemouth will require compensation.

Liverpool are also reported to be considering the addition of a former player to their coaching staff, though there have been no developments as of yet.

Thiago Alcantara is considered the most popular candidate after his departure from Barcelona, but it is unclear if the 35-year-old would be open to the role as he spends time with his family.

Hulshoff and Peeters have worked with Slot for a number of years having also made the move to Liverpool from Feyenoord in 2024.

It stands to reason that they could follow the head coach into his next role, though Slot has already turned down an offer to take over at Fulham and may wait until the Netherlands job is available.

Meanwhile, former Feyenoord, Guangzhou, Rangers and Besiktas head coach Van Bronckhorst joined as Liverpool assistant last summer as replacement for John Heitinga.

He is now in line to become director at Feyenoord, who recently sacked head coach Robin van Persie.
