Chelsea board told to complete summer transfer deal of£120 million as agreement already in place!

Former Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has suggested that the Blues should consider selling Enzo Fernandez this summer, arguing that the Argentina international has yet to fully justify his record-breaking transfer fee at Stamford Bridge.

Fernandez has once again found himself at the centre of transfer speculation following reports linking the midfielder with a potential move to the Spanish giants.

While there has been no official approach from Real Madrid, rumours of interest from the Santiago Bernabeu have continued to circulate as the club evaluates options to strengthen its midfield for the future.

Speaking about the possibility of a transfer, Petit believes CHELSEA would be wise to listen to offers should Real Madrid decide to test the club’s resolve. The former France international questioned whether Fernandez has consistently delivered the level of performances expected following his £106.8 million move from Benfica in January 2023.

‘Enzo Fernandez should go, you cannot keep a player happy if he wants to leave,’ former Blues midfielder Emmanuel Petit told BetVictor Live Casino

‘He did say that he wanted to leave and he was fined by the club. I know he’s probably been one of the best players for Chelsea for the last two years, but you cannot be the captain of the team and have this kind of communication.

‘Obviously he wants to leave the club, we are not stupid. I think he’s been fed up and tired with what’s going on at Chelsea. It’s been a mess this season.

‘Obviously he is targeted by Real Madrid. Real Madrid desperately needs to get some strong and powerful midfield players. I won’t be surprised if he leaves the club and goes to Real Madrid or somewhere else.’

Real Madrid have been linked with a number of midfielders in recent months as they prepare for the next phase of their squad evolution. With experienced stars approaching the latter stages of their careers, the Spanish club are believed to be assessing elite young talent capable of becoming long-term cornerstones of the team.

CHELSEA , however, are understood to have no desire to sell Fernandez and continue to regard him as a key part of their future plans. The midfielder remains under a long-term contract and the club are in a strong negotiating position.
