Morgan Rogers issued a clarification on the Arsenal transfer news. The English winger is currently focused on the upcoming FIFA World Cup. He doesn’t want any distraction for now.
Morgan Rogers clears the air on potential Arsenal transfer
Rogers recently talked about the buzz around his potential transfer to the Gunners. As reported by Goal, he admitted that it is impossible to ignore the noise around him. He said, “You can’t help not [hearing it].”
Rogers also added that despite the noise, he is focusing on his next target : the World Cup. The 23-year-old wants to make England proud at the upcoming World Cup. He is also hopeful of meeting the expectations of head coach Thomas Tuchel. He has neither confirmed nor denied the possibilities of leaving Aston Villa for the North London club as of now.
Rogers currently represents Aston Villa. He joined the Villans in February 2024. He previously played for Manchester City between 2019 and 2023. In between, he was loaned out to Middlesbrough for half a season in 2023. He also played for Lincoln City, Bournemouth, and Blackpool under similar loan agreements between 2021 and 2023.

Why is Arsenal interested in Morgan Rogers?
Arsenal isn’t interested in Rogers just like that. They want to maintain the dream run of the 2025-26 season. The North London club needs a better attacking lineup. Because of that, they’re pursuing players like Rogers, Morgan Gibbs-White to name a few. Manager Mikel Arteta is determined to repeat the heroics of the current season.
Rogers performed well for the Villans in 2025. The West Midlands club experienced a roller coaster ride last year. They suffered early exits in the EFL Cup and the FA Cup. However, the Villans more than made up for it with the UEFA Europa League title victory. The West Midlands club overcame SC Freiburg in the finals by 3-0. They also finished in fourth place in the Premier League table.
That’s why the Gunners need Rogers. A reliable player like him will boost the attacking lineup for Arsenal ahead of the upcoming season. Team manager Mikel Arteta is ready to do whatever it takes to secure Rogers. He aims for a tactical evolution of the North London club.
Future Gameplan for Morgan Rogers
Rogers is aiming to make it big at the upcoming World Cup. England have improved on their **football**skills a lot in the past few years. The Three Lions even made it to the semifinals of the 2018 edition. This was the first time since the 1990 edition that England had made it this far. As such, Rogers would like nothing better than to take it a notch higher.
England are placed in a tough group. They are in group L alongside Croatia, Ghana, and Panama. In fact, they’ll be facing Croatia in their opening game on June 18. After Croatia, England will face Ghana on June 24 and Panama on June 28.
Apart from his World Cup plans, Rogers needs to work hard on his fitness. He suffered minor injuries last year. He also needs to work on the discipline front. Rogers got 7 yellow cards in the Premier League. If he overcomes this, the winger has a bright future ahead.
