Marc Cucurella is away with the Spain national team, where he’s had to answer a few questions about his future.
The defender did admirably to bat away references to Atletico and Barcelona from Spanish radio show El Partidazo de Cope.
“Right now I don’t want to talk about my future. I’m very happy where I am. My family are happy. I don’t want to know anything [about interest], I want to enjoy this [being at Chelsea].”
Asked more directly “Barcelona or Atleti?”, he responded “pass.”

It’s well handled by Cucurella, who avoids offending anyone without really shutting the door on a move. We’re pretty sure that offers from those teams will come in, and should one of them hit Chelsea’s valuation, they’re likely to sell.
At another moment in the interview, he values himself at €35m-€40m. We suspect an interested team will have to pay more than that if they want to sign him.
In other news…
David Ornstein is reporting that Brighton are bidding for a Spurs defender – and we’re keen for Chelsea to do the same.
While various defenders are linked with moves to Chelsea, others are being linked with moves away. Axel Disasi is top of the list of potential sales, and it sounds like there’s plenty of interest in him.
