The Seattle Seahawks drafted quarterback Russell Wilson in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft from the Wisconsin Badgers. Wilson was not projected to start right away after Seattle signed Matt Flynn to a contract the same offseason. He performed better than expected and was the Week 1 starter for Seattle. Wilson helped the Seahawks win a Super Bowl title and they also made it to two.

He played for the Seahawks from 2012-2021. Wilson retired from the NFL this past season and will now be a CBS Sports NFL analyst. It is quite possible that he will wind up in Canton, Ohio in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Nathan Jahnke of profootballfocus.com listed the top Seahawks offensive players over the last 20 seasons. It is not a surprise by any means that Wilson is the quarterback for Seattle in this scenario. He had a great run with Pete Carroll when he was the head coach. Jahnke said,
“The Seahawks were at their best in the early 2010s, pairing a top-10 offense with the league’s best defense. While the defense declined during the second half of the decade, which hurt the team’s overall success, the offense continued to shine. The skill-position players on this team are almost entirely made up of players from the 2010s and those who played alongside Russell Wilson.”
There are a lot of people who believe that Wilson was carried by running back Marshawn Lynch and the defense during his time with Seattle. Lynch was named the top running back for Seattle over the last 20 seasons. He played for them from 2010-2015 and also the 2019 NFL season. Tyler Lockett, D.K. Metcalf, and Doug Baldwin were named to this team at wide receiver.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba was left off the list at wide receiver, but there is a chance that he can be a franchise great in the long haul. But for now, the Seahawks greatness over the last 20 seasons belongs to other players, especially guys who were on the “Legion of Boom” team.
