The San Francisco 49ers have not won a Super Bowl in the last 20 seasons, but they have been to a few Super Bowls in the process. Colin Kapernick was the quarterback for San Francisco in 2012 after he replaced Alex Smith. Jimmy Garoppolo was the quarterback in 2019. Brock Purdy also made it to the Super Bowl for San Francisco in 2023.

The 49ers have had three different quarterbacks in that span that have led them to the big game, but they didn’t win it. Over the last 20 years, San Francisco has had really good players on the roster. Which quarterback was named to the 49ers All PFF team over the last 20 seasons?

Nathan Jahnke of profootballfocus.com wrote about the 49ers best offensive and defensive players over the last 20 seasons. At the quarterback position, Purdy was named to the team. Jahnke did not give a reason as to why he thought Purdy deserved this nomination over Garoppolo. Purdy used to be Mr. Irellevant, but he has been a major surprise at the quarterback position in the NFL.
He will be under contract for the next several seasons for San Francisco. It remains to be seen if Purdy will ever lead them to a Super Bowl title. With that being said, some of his other teammates or former teammates also made this team. Christian McCaffrey is the starting running back and Kyle Juszczyk is the starting full back. Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk also made this list at wide receiver. Trent Williams was the left tackle. The offense was a solid group of players here. Purdy over Garoppolo at quarterback is also the correct call.
