Not just Victor Munoz: Newcastle United 'rival' Manchester United for second winger deal -…

A look at the latest Newcastle United transfer rumours as one deal edges closer.

The Magpies announced the £18million arrival of French goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen from Stade de Reims earlier this week and aren’t resting on their laurels.

United are seeking a replacement for Anthony Gordon following his £69m move to Barcelona. While we understand one deal to be close, Eddie Howe’s side have been linked with another:

Real Madrid pave way for Victor Munoz deal

Real Madrid will not activate Victor Munoz’s buy-back clause, paving the way for Newcastle United to complete a deal.

The Magpies are in advanced discussions to sign the 22-year-old winger and, as reported by NewcastleWorld, feel they are edging closer to an agreement.

Munoz joined Osasuna from Real Madrid last summer for around £5million, which included a release clause of around £35million.

The Spanish giants also inserted a buy-back clause and hold 50% of Munoz’s economic rights should the forward be sold on, entitling them to half of a sell-on fee should they agree not to buy him back.

Fabrizio Romano claims Madrid won’t trigger his buy-back clause but stand to bank around £15m if Munoz’s move to St James’ Park is completed.

As Munoz’s release clause would have to be paid in full up front, Newcastle are negotiating a structured deal worth around £30million for the player. That would entitle Real Madrid to just under half of that should a deal be agreed.

Romano wrote on X: “Real Madrid will NOT activate the buy back clause for Víctor Muñoz as Newcastle are confident to get deal done after bid sent yesterday.

“Real will receive 50% of the deal, over €17m.”

Newcastle United ‘intensely competing’ for Bundesliga winger

Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Toure is said to be attracting interest from Newcastle, Manchester United and Brentford following a strong campaign in the Bundesliga with five goals and 12 assists.

But signing him won’t come cheap with the 20-year-old, who joined from Swedish side Hammarby in January 2025, under contract until 2029.
