Green Bay Packers defensive end Datone Jones (95) tackles Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones (11) after a nine yard reception during the fourth quarter of their game Monday, December 8, 2014 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. The Green Bay Packers beat the Atlanta Falcons 43-37. First-round draftee Jones was the 26th pick. He played for Green Bay from 2013-’16.

It is not a surprise that Julio Jones is one of the best wide receivers that this franchise has seen. There is a video good chance that he is going to also wind up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. When he was in his prime, Jones was a top three wide receiver at his position.

Nathan Jahnke of profootballfocus.com listed the top Falcons players on the offensive side of the football over the last 20 seasons. Jones is one of the wide receivers who made this list to no surprise. The other two wide receivers who made the list were Drake London and Roddy White. Tony Gonzales was the tight end and Bijan Robinson was the running back. Jahnke said about Jones and others,

“This team draws from all three eras, led by Tony Gonzalez and Roddy White from the early period, Julio Jones from the dominant 2016 offense and Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts Sr. from the current group.”

Jones played for Atlanta from 2011-2020. He spent his last three NFL seasons with the Tennessee Titans, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Philadelphia Eagles. Jones is eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2029. There is a good chance that he is going to wind up as a first ballot hall of famer in Canton, Ohio. Jones only had 66 career touchdowns, but he did have 914 receptions for 13,703 yards receiving and averaged 15.0 yards per reception in his NFL career. He is also probably the best wide receiver that the Falcons franchise has ever had also.
