Star forward Mohamed Salah's agent has issued a response amid rumours that he is considering extending his stay at Liverpool. Ramy Abbas has claimed that the 33-year-old is 'perfectly fine', but is unwilling to 'discuss sensitive future plans'.

With 257 goals and 123 assists in 442 games for the Reds, Salah is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the club's history. In the 2025-26 season, however, Salah endured his worst campaign for Liverpool since his arrival from Roma in 2017.

He racked up just 12 goals and 10 assists in 41 games across all competitions, often cutting a frustrated figure on the pitch. Although he had signed a two-year extension with the Reds in April 2025, an agreement was reached to allow him to depart this summer.

The decision was attributed to his discontentment and declining relationship with manager Arne Slot. The Dutchman, however, was sacked by Liverpool on May 30, with Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola announced as his replacement.

The decision sparked rumours about Salah potentially changing his mind and reversing his decision to leave Anfield this summer. The four-time Premier League Golden Boot winner's (2017-18, 2018-19, 2021-22, 2024-25) national teammate, goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy, added fuel to the fire while speaking to ON Time Sports.

The 35-year-old said (via Mirror):

"The prospect of leaving Liverpool has affected Mo psychologically, but the situation might change and he could still stay with the team. He even told me that he doesn't know anything about his future yet.”

Abbas issued a response to the rumours with a post on X. He wrote:

"Mohamed is doing perfectly fine and neither he nor I prefer to discuss sensitive future plans with people not involved in them. Both he and I are very private about these things. Yes, people may ask and they may get a standard polite response but that's about it."

Alongside rumours of an extended stay at Liverpool, rumours about Salah's potential move to the Turkish Super Lig or the Saudi Pro League are still doing the rounds.

"He was very keen" - Former Fenerbahce executive makes claim about potential signing of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah

Former Fenerbahce executive Ertan Torunogullari recently claimed that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is 'very keen' on a move to the Turkish Super Lig.

Speaking to Fotospor, the Turkish-Dutch businessman, who was Fener's head of football operations from September 2025 to June 2026, said (via Mirror):

"He was very keen on coming to Turkey (during my tenure). The meetings we had were extremely positive. We had established common ground with him on many issues, including his salary."

Torunogullari, who oversaw operations under erstwhile club president Sadettin Saran, left his position due to Aziz Yildirim's victory in Fenerbahce's presidential election. Despite the change in administration, Salah's move to Istanbul could still be on the cards, as Yildirim, who was also the head of the club between 1998 and 2018, recently revealed (via Turkiye Today):

"He is asking for a salary of 20 million euros. With taxes, that's 30 million euros. He wants a three-year contract that will cost a total of 90 million euros. If there is an urgent need, we will transfer him."

Up next, Salah will be seen in action for Egypt at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His side will take on Belgium (June 15), New Zealand (June 21) and Iran (June 26) in the group stage.
