Green Bay Packers insider claims Tucker Kraft will be the highest-paid tight end in the NFL…

The Green Bay Packers believe that they have a Super Bowl window that will be open for the next four seasons or so. This, of course, is based on the current contract length of All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons, who was acquired from the Dallas Cowboys before the 2025 NFL season.

Parsons’ presence on the team, though, does not necessarily guarantee a Super Bowl. Green Bay has worked hard over the last several years to form a core of young homegrown players that they believe can help achieve that goal as well.

Already this off-season, the Packers have given contract extensions to two of their wide receivers that they believe will help them in their pursuit of Super Bowl glory: Jayden Reed and Christian Watson.

With these two locked up, many believe tight end Tucker Kraft will be next.

Kraft, of course, is coming off of a torn ACL that he suffered in the Packers’ eighth game of the year last season. However, his recovery has gone well and he believes he will be all-systems-go by Week One.

By the time that happens, Green Bay insider Jason Wilde believes the Packers will have made Kraft the highest-paid tight end in the NFL:

“I think Tucker Kraft will be the highest paid Tight End in football once he signs that deal.” –@jasonjwilde 💰

“The most interesting thing [Kraft] said… was that he believed he was the best tight end in football at the time of his injury. He was TE1. What does that mean? I think that means he wants to be paid as TE1. Not only does he not want to miss any time, but I think it is pretty clear, at least based on how he addressed it, that he will start camp on the PUP list, which means he can’t practice.

“Which also means they can continue negotiating to make sure a deal is done before he starts practicing. That is my read on the situation.

“I don’t think it’s acrimonious at all, but the average he would be looking for per season, which would put him at number one? First, George Kittle is at $19.1 million per year. He got $35 million guaranteed on his existing deal. Trey McBride of the Cardinals is at $19 million, but he got $43 million guaranteed.

“So I would think something that surpasses Trey McBride, which will then most likely be surpassed by the next tight end, but I think Tucker Kraft will be the highest-paid tight end in football once he signs that deal, whether it be in late July or early August.”

Kraft is coming off of a season in which he had 32 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns. Despite only having played in eight games, he still finished the year tied for the team lead in touchdown receptions.

Green Bay does not want to see their 2023 third round pick in the free agent market next off-season, so it is more than likely a deal will get done soon.
