Manchester United’s recruitment team have cast a wide net across Europe this summer as they continue searching for players capable of strengthening Michael Carrick’s squad both now and in the future.

While much of the attention has centred around midfield additions, the club are also keeping tabs on some of the continent’s most exciting young prospects.

The challenge for United is that promising talents rarely stay under the radar for long.

That has become increasingly evident with one Bundesliga youngster who is now attracting attention from multiple Premier League clubs.

Brentford interested in Bazoumana Toure

According to German outlet BILD, Brentford have joined Manchester United and Newcastle United in the race to sign Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Toure.

The report states that all three clubs are competing intensely for the 20-year-old’s signature following his impressive rise in Germany.

Bazoumana Toure has earned plenty of admirers thanks to his explosive speed, direct attacking style and ability to cause problems for defenders in one-on-one situations.

Manchester United’s interest is far from new.

The Red Devils were already monitoring the youngster back in 2024 when he was still playing for Swedish side Hammarby.

During a league match against Hacken, Manchester United scouts were among those in attendance as the winger continued to generate interest from across Europe.

Arsenal were also watching him at the time, highlighting how highly-rated he was before making the move to the Bundesliga.

Since arriving in Germany, Toure’s development has only accelerated.

His performances for Hoffenheim have reportedly placed him firmly on United’s radar once again, with the club viewing him as a player who matches the profile they are seeking in attacking areas.

The winger’s combination of youth, pace and long-term potential is said to be particularly appealing to those overseeing recruitment at Old Trafford.

However, any move will be far from straightforward.

Hoffenheim remain in a strong negotiating position after tying Toure down to a contract that runs until 2029.

There is also no release clause included in his deal, meaning interested clubs cannot bypass negotiations.

As a result, the Bundesliga side are expected to demand a substantial fee if they are to consider parting ways with one of their most exciting young talents.

The latest development, though, is Brentford’s arrival in the race.

Their interest adds another layer of competition for Manchester United, who already face pressure from Newcastle United as both clubs look to secure the winger’s signature.

With Toure now viewed as one of the most sought-after young attackers available, a transfer battle could soon develop between several Premier League sides.
