Bayern Munich has shown an interest in Rio Ngumoha as the Liverpool youngster's stock continues to rise, and there's a fresh twist in the reports surrounding the German giant's approach

Rio Ngumoha’s links with Bayern Munich have taken a fresh twist amid claims that the Liverpool star’s brother traveled to Germany to hold talks over a transfer.
The 17-year-old’s stock is rising rapidly after a breakthrough season at Anfield, in which he had managed to force his way into Liverpool’s starting XI by the end of the season.
He has continued to attract attention after being called up by Thomas Tuchel for England’s training camp ahead of the World Cup, despite not being selected for the tournament itself. Having won the player of the match award on his senior international debut against New Zealand, Ngumoha also reportedly scored in a behind-closed-doors game against Miami FC.
Liverpool fans though will be a little worried about the interest that is emerging in the teenager from Bayern. Reports first broke last week, claiming that Ngumoha had been targeted by the Bundesliga giants as they looked to bolster their options on the left, having signed Luis Diaz from the Reds last year.
The response from Liverpool was swift, with the club not interested in entertaining any potential offers, and Ngumoha looking set for a bigger role next season. Bayern is said to have now moved on to other targets, although the speculation around Ngumoha hasn’t diminished.
First, there were claims that a verbal agreement had been reached with the young winger, followed by suggestions Ngumoha was unhappy with the amount of game time he’d been given by Arne Slot during the 2025/26 season.

Now, there are rumors that Ngumoha’s brother traveled to Bayern’s training ground to hold talks, and indicated that there would be no issues in negotiating contract details and salary.
Christian Falk addresses that rumor for CF Bayern Insider, but also reiterated Liverpool’s stance that the teenager is not for sale, with Bayern having been knocked back in no uncertain terms.
Ngumoha will be returning home as the World Cup begins, with the winger having not been selected in England’s squad for the tournament, and ineligible for a call-up in the case of any drop-outs, having not been named in the initial 55-man squad either.

Liverpool.com says: Ngumoha is very clearly an ambitious young player, and with good reason. We saw that when he made the move from Chelsea to Liverpool, and now the Reds have to be wary of this interest from Bayern.
It looks as though Liverpool has managed to repel the German giants for now, but this will be a warning for the club that if Ngumoha feels as though he’s not getting the opportunities he deserves, he could look elsewhere - and there’ll be no shortage of clubs interested in him.
