Former MSU ad Alan Haller lands new job as NFL’s director of flag football development

EAST LANSING, Mich. (News 10) - Former Michigan State University Athletic Director Alan Haller has landed a new job.

Haller announced Friday he has joined the NFL as senior director of collegiate flag football development.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to help lead the growth of one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, especially at the collegiate level and for women,” Haller said in a post on LinkedIn.

“Building programs, strengthening partnerships, and expanding opportunities for student-athletes is work that truly matters to me. I’m honored to step into this role and excited for what’s ahead as we continue advancing the game and creating new pathways for the next generation of athletes,” Haller’s post said.

Haller, a Lansing native and MSU alum, served as the school’s athletic director from 2021 to 2025.
