Man Utd"intensely competing"to sign 12-assist winger with Newcastle&Brentford

Manchester United are ‘intensely competing’ with Newcastle United and Brentford to sign Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Toure this summer, according to BILD.

The Red Devils have already made a midfield signing in Atalanta’s Ederson, and there could be several more additions to the squad during the transfer window.

A specialist left winger could be signed to compete with Matheus Cunha and Patrick Dorgu, and BILD claim that United are interested in securing the services of Toure.

The club are ‘intensely competing’ with Newcastle and Brentford for the Ivory Coast star, who has dazzled in the Bundesliga with his ‘blistering pace’ and ‘carefree attitude’.

However, a deal won’t be easy to pursue, with Toure under contract until June 2029. There is no release clause in the contract of the 20-year-old, who was formerly at Hammarby.

Toure would be a good acquisition for United

The youngster was previously on United’s radar during his time at Hammarby. The club did not follow up on their interest, which contributed to Hoffenheim scooping for his signature.

Toure joined the Bundesliga outfit in February last year and played across the attack during his debut season. However, he was a specialist left winger in 2025/26, which brought the best of him.

The talented attacker bagged five goals and 12 assists from 30 league appearances. He also impressed with his high pressing and dribbling in the final third. He won almost two take-ons on average.

Toure also worked hard off the ball, winning five duels per game alongside four recoveries. He is a player with huge potential, and we are not surprised that he is attracting Premier League interest.

Brentford recently missed out on signing Koln’s Said El-Mala and have shifted focus to Toure. The west London outfit were prepared to pay £43 million to prise away the former earlier this month.

Hence, United may have to spend at least that figure to beat the Bees in the race. The Red Devils should have an edge over Brentford and Newcastle with Champions League football at their disposal.
