LaLiga champions Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Socceroos sensation Lucas Herrington.
Herrington is in line to make his FIFA World Cup debut on Sunday (AEST) when Australia meet Turkiye in their tournament opener in Vancouver.
The 18-year-old has taken MLS by storm since joining Colorado Rapids from Brisbane Roar in the A-League Men in January, and he has already been linked with a move away.

Herrington has previously been linked with Premier League outfit Everton and West Ham, who were relegated to the EFL Championship at the end of 2025-26.
It has been a prophetic rise for Herrington, having only made his Socceroos debut in March.
In September 2024, then-Brisbane Roar head coach Ruben Zadkovich fronted the media and said that Herrington was “the best defender in Australian football”.
Eighteen months later, Herrington is now preparing to play a key role in the Socceroos’ campaign at the World Cup after enjoying what can only be described as a meteoric rise.
Herrington will be the 11th youngest player at this World Cup, aged just 18.
Should he be named in the starting XI by coach Tony Popovic, he will become the youngest player ever to start a World Cup match for Australia, breaking the record currently held by Adam Taggart, set at the 2014 World Cup just after his 21st birthday.
If he sees the field at all, the centre-back will become the second youngest to represent the Socceroos on this stage overall, behind Garang Kuol at the 2022 World Cup.
“It would mean everything,” Herrington said. “I’ve worked my whole life for an opportunity like this.
“It came sooner than I thought, but I’ll try and take it with both hands, just enjoy it and really make the country proud.”
