MENDENHALL AT PRACTICE
The Steelers have been searching for their seventh Super Bowl victory for quite some time now. Their last championship appearance was at the conclusion of the 2010 season, but they fell just short while losing to the Green Bay Packers.
Running back Rashard Mendenhall gets a lot of the blame for that loss because of his late fumble, but he wasn’t the only reason Pittsburgh lost that game.
It doesn’t seem like there’s any bad blood between Mendenhall and the team. He recently posted a picture on Twitter with new Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy. It looks like he took a trip to see his former team practice.
Funnily enough, McCarthy was Packers head coach when they beat the Steelers in that Super Bowl. He probably didn’t bring that game up with Mendenhall, though.
GREG LLOYD GOLFING
Greg Lloyd was an outside linebacker with the Steelers from 1987-97. He had 53.5 sacks with the Steelers as one of the more feared defenders in the league. He was named a First-team All-Pro three times in Pittsburgh. Lloyd perfectly embodied the Steelers’ tough and physical nature.
However, his playing days are long gone. Lloyd isn’t as scary as he once was on the field, either. He’s actually set to compete in charity golf outing in July, according to MPB Celebrity Golf Classic on Twitter. The event is meant to support charities that help battle breast cancer. It’s a great cause, and it’s nice to see the Steelers legend participating.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker, Greg Lloyd is back!! ⛳
Greg's highlights include:
– 5x Pro Bowl Player
– 3x First-team All-Pro
– Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Honor

BLEIER SHOWS OFF SUPER BOWL RINGS
The 1970s Steelers were full of Hall of Famers. One player who received less recognition but was still key to their four Super Bowl victories was Rocky Bleier. He was originally drafted by the Steelers in 1968, but he had to leave them after being drafted to fight in the Vietnam War.
While Bleier suffered an injury during his service, he still battled back and played for the Steelers from 1971-80.
Bleier eventually carved out a role for himself, despite Franco Harris being Pittsburgh’s lead rusher. He even rushed for over 1,000 yards in 1976. Bleier had an impressive career, and thankfully, he didn’t come back for nothing. He won four Super Bowls with the Steelers, and in a recent video on WLUK-TV FOX 11’s YouTube channel, Bleier showed off his championship rings.
