Manchester United transfer interest in Marc Casadó is covered in Spain
Manchester United are among several clubs to have Barcelona’s Marc Casadó on their transfer agenda.
The Spain international’s situation at the Camp Nou favours Manchester United and his other suitors.
Last summer, Casadó had an opportunity to move to the Premier League, when Chelsea tried to sign him.
In July 2025, Sport Witness relayed news of the Blues’ big push to sign the midfielder, who had a €30m price tag. However, he snubbed them in order to continue with Barcelona.
This decision backfired as Casadó has had to settle for a restricted role under Hansi Flick this season. He’s played 1,397 minutes from 34 matches, of which 981 were from 24 league matches.
Two months ago, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain of the player wanting to leave the La Liga winners.
Manchester United option for Barcelona player
Saturday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo claims Marc Casadó has market in England, where Manchester United are keen Spain and the Middle East.
Hansi Flick has several options to pick from in the midfield. The academy graduate knows this and realises it’ll be difficult to enjoy regular game time at the Camp Nou. He has to decide whether to continue or move elsewhere this summer.
Due to his qualities, the Spaniard won’t be short of options. Jorge Mendes represents him and this is another factor why he would have several options to pick from.
Atlético Madrid are in the mix and this option pleases the player.
Diego Simeone needs to give his approval for this operation, and it looks like the coach hasn’t given the green light so far.
Al-Hilal are keen and he can earn a lucrative salary in Saudi Arabia. At the same time, the move will be a downgrade from a sporting point of view.
Mundo state several Premier League sides are keeping a close eye on the midfielder but only Manchester United get a mention.
The Red Devils have ‘very close ties’ with the super-agent, and he could help them sign his client.
Cheaper midfield option for Manchester United
Michael Carrick’s side have already made concrete advances to sign Atalanta’s Éderson. They are now trying to sign West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes, also managed by Jorge Mendes.
Transfermarkt value the Barcelona defensive midfielder, who has a contract until 2028, at €20m.
Marc Casadó can be a cheaper option for the Old Trafford club, but it’s not a given they will make further advances this summer.
