Manchester United among clubs eyeing Barcelona star amid Atletico Madrid interest - Reports

Manchester United have reportedly emerged as a potential destination for Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado. As reported by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the 22-year-old could be on his way out of Camp Nou in the summer.

The La Masia graduate featured 34 times across competitions for Hansi Flick's side last season. However, he was mostly limited to opportunities from the bench and only played 1397 minutes of first-team football.

As per Mundo Deportivo, Casado is keen to play regular first-team football and is therefore considering his future at Barcelona. The defensive midfielder has no shortage of suitors for his services with Atletico Madrid having already registered interest for his signature.

The two-cap Spain international has also attracted interest from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal and Manchester United. Michael Carrick's side are looking to bolster their midfield options as they look to strengthen ahead of their Champions League return.

The Red Devils finished third in the Premier League last season and will be playing in the Champions League in 2026-27. They have already reportedly agreed a deal to sign Ederson from Atalanta but Carrick is thought to be keen on another midfielder.

Casado has emerged as a potential option for Manchester United with his agent Jorge Mendes, having close ties with the Premier League side. The young midfielder has made 75 senior appearances for Barcelona till date and has also earned two caps for Spain.

Barcelona make decision on Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford: Reports

Barcelona have reportedly decided against triggering the option to sign Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford. The 28-year-old enjoyed a solid season on loan at the Catalan club but they have decided not to exercise their option to sign him for €30 million.

Rashford went out of favour at Old Trafford towards the end of 2024 and was loaned out to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 season. He was loaned out to Barcelona in the 2025-26 with the Blaugrana having the option to sign him permanently for €30 million.

The England international had a productive season under Hansi Flick scoring 14 goals and providing another 14 in 49 games across competitions. The Manchester United loanee helped the Catalan giants win the LaLiga title and the Supercopa de España last season.

We will now have to wait and see what awaits the versatile forward beyond this summer. He is currently with Thomas Tuchel's England side in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
