After showing flashes of franchise-quarterback potential during his first two NFL seasons, Maye now gets the elite playmaker every young quarterback needs to take the next step. Brown arrives in New England as one of the league’s premier receivers, bringing size, physicality, and proven production to a [Patriots](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/new-england-patriots) offense that has lacked a true No. 1 target for years.
Maye threw for 4,394 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions during the 2025 season while adding 450 rushing yards. While those numbers were encouraging, the Patriots struggled to consistently create explosive plays through the air, often forcing Maye to carry the offense on his own.
That should change with Brown in the lineup.
Brown is coming off another productive season, recording 78 receptions for 1, 003 yards and 7 touchdowns.
