Broncos and Packers predicted to show interest in former $120 million All-Pro pass rusher

The Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos are two teams that could be in the market for pass-rushing help.

Green Bay traded Rashan Gary to the Dallas Cowboys this offseason, and though Micah Parsons is a world-class player and one of the best pass rushers in the sport, the Packers could use another impact player at the position.

Head coach Matt LaFleur and defensive coordinator Jonathon Gannon are currently relying on Lukas Van Ness as the starting edge rusher opposite Parsons, but he's been disappointing over three seasons after being selected with the No. 13 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

As for Denver, the team boasts one of the best defensive lines in the sport, but with Jonathon Cooper facing off-field legal issues, general manager George Paton could look to add pass-rushing insurance.

That said, an NFL analyst believes the Packers and Broncos should target a former All-Pro pass rusher who's in the final stages of his Hall of Fame career.

Packers and Broncos linked to Von Miller

Sports Illustrated's Karl Rasmussen listed Green Bay and Denver as the top landing spots for free agent edge rusher Von Miller.

Miller played the 2025 season with the Washington Commanders, tallying nine sacks and 36 quarterback pressures in a rotational role.

"Miller made himself a household name during his illustrious tenure with the Broncos, where he played from 2011 to ’21 and made eight Pro Bowls and three All-Pro first teams. Parsons is expected to be back come the second month of the season, though Green Bay may opt to exercise caution with him depending upon how his rehab goes. Miller could end up being an important addition for the Packers if they’re looking to stabilize the edge position with a more experienced option than Dennis-Sutton."

Miller has already stated that he will return for a 15th NFL season in 2026, and has also teased the possibility of returning to Denver for one final ride.

"I lobbied, I do lobby, I lobbied publicly, privately, so I lobbied,'' Miller said on returning to the Broncos. "I think there's no question the type of environment I bring to a locker room, I think there's no question to the type of environment I bring to a team."

A reunion between Miller and the Broncos would make a ton of sense for both sides. Miller showed last year that he can still be an effective pass rusher, so Denver could add him to its stacked edge-rusher room to serve in a rotational role.

Additionally, it just feels right for Miller, the MVP of Denver's Super Bowl win over the Carolina Panthers during the 2015 season, to end his career with the Broncos and compete for another title with the franchise that drafted him.

However, the Packers could also pursue Miller to pair with Parsons and mentor their young edge-rusher group, which includes Van Ness and rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton.

Both Green Bay and Denver have over $20 million in cap space and can afford Miller, who shouldn't be too expensive to sign anyway. We'll see where the three-time first-team All-Pro selection lands for the 2026 season, but the Packers and Broncos should be near the top of the list.
