Liverpool have a range of high-profile squad numbers available to new signings this summer – while others, such as Rio Ngumoha, could opt for a change.
With three key players already departed and one signing already confirmed, it will be another busy summer for Liverpool.
That includes the kit and administration staff who preside over the first team’s squad numbers, with those brought into the club able to take their pick.
These are the most notable squad numbers available to Liverpool’s new signings this summer:

Ibrahima Konate, Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have vacated the No. 5, No. 11 and No. 26 shirts they became synonymous with during their long spells at Anfield.
The No. 13 remains open since Adrian‘s exit in 2024, while the last player to wear No. 16 was Marko Grujic in 2021.
Luis Diaz‘s old No. 23 shirt remains vacant, as does the No. 24 last worn by striker Rhian Brewster.
With Liverpool expected to sign a new right-back and at least one new winger to join £60 million centre-back Jeremy Jacquet, some of those shirts could soon be taken.
Will Rio Ngumoha change his Liverpool squad number?

There is also the possibility players like Ngumoha (No. 73) and perhaps even Trey Nyoni (No. 42) take new squad numbers to reflect their growing status among the first team.
Youngster Josh Abe has already taken the No. 40 shirt after committing his future to the club, while Diogo Jota‘s No. 20 was retired after his tragic death.
Others which could be vacated with players departing include Wataru Endo‘s No. 3, Alexis Mac Allister‘s No. 10, Federico Chiesa‘s No. 14, Curtis Jones‘ No. 17 and Harvey Elliott‘s No. 19.
Last season saw Liverpool’s new signings handed temporary squad numbers at the start of pre-season before taking their permanent numbers upon the start of the Adidas kit deal on August 1.
