Claims Cody Gakpo had told Liverpool he wants to leave this summer have been denied, but an informal price tag is set with the winger attracting interest.
There is now a feeling that Gakpo could leave Liverpool if they receive the right offer.
It comes after a disappointing campaign as first choice on the left wing and a change in the dugout as Arne Slot is replaced by Andoni Iraola.
Dutch outlet SoccerNews claimed on Saturday that the 27-year-old had informed Liverpool he was open to a move away as Tottenham, Newcastle and Bayern Munich registered their interest.
This has since been dismissed, with Liverpool journalist David Lynch and transfer reporter Ben Jacobs among those to explain that this is not the case.
However, both added that a sale cannot be ruled out, with Lynch revealing a conversation in which “Gakpo was described as ‘not untouchable’ in this window.”
“Going into this summer window he will have a price on his head, Liverpool will be kind of open to the idea of making a sale – despite the fact that they’ve got so much to do,” he said on YouTube.
“Let’s see if the offers come in and if the offers are big enough. If they are, Liverpool are happy to make a decision on that one.
“They’re not just outright saying that Cody Gakpo isn’t for sale.”

According to Jacobs, writing on X, Liverpool’s valuation for the Dutch winger would be informed by the £70 million deal that saw Anthony Gordon join Barcelona at the end of May.
Gakpo signed a new long-term contract last year which ties him to Liverpool until 2030, and though he has recently turned 27 that protects his value in the event of any interest.
It remains to be seen if there are genuine suitors in the Premier League, but Jacobs has revealed clubs in Italy have the No. 18 on their radar while Bayern pursued him last summer.

Bayern are known to be targeting a new left winger having made a shock approach for Rio Ngumoha, but with the 17-year-old considered untouchable, Gakpo’s availability could make him a target.
Though Liverpool are said to informally value Gakpo at around £70 million, the likelihood is that their terms would be flexible.
However, it is worth noting that Luis Diaz was sold to Bayern for £65.6 million last summer with only two years left on the Colombian’s contract at the time as he neared his 29th birthday.
