Sunday Dawg Chow (6/14): Brother, can you spare a dime? Or maybe a QB?

With the focus on the QB position it actually seems like a normal Browns spring.  Four QBs in camp.  All have questions.  We usually end the season having played at least four, often including someone added during the season.  So how will this year play out?

Listed without a predicted likelihood.

One scenario:  Watson wins the starting role, plays most of the season at most of the skill he showed in Houston.  Browns make the playoffs.  In his contract year he draws significant FA attention and moves on.  Browns gain a future compensatory pick.  Browns do best possible to draft a prospect QB from a late draft position.

Another scenario:  Watson wins the starting role, plays most of the season at an NFL average level.  Browns have winning record.  His past coupled with an average level of performance makes him an unappealing FA and he moves on with a prove it deal.  Browns do best possible from middle draft position to get a prospect QB.  I see little chance that the Browns try to extend Watson in this scenario.

Another scenario:  Watson wins starting position but either due to poor performance, injury or poor team record he is replaced by SS.  Sanders shows enough to be competitive as future starter.  Watson moves on with minimum or prove it deal.  Browns have a losing record.  Browns use a 1st round pick on a QB.

Another scenario:  SS wins starting position and shows enough to provide hope that he can be QB in future.  Browns have a losing record.  Browns add prospect somewhere in the draft.

Another scenario:  SS wins starting role but is only marginally better than last year.  A parade of other QBs get a chance.  Browns have a losing record.  They go all in to draft a top prospect with an early choice.
