Sir Jim Ratcliffe has had a reign full of popular and unpopular moments at Manchester United as the businessman aims to bring the club back to its glory days.

Ratcliffe’s methods for ensuring that success for the Red Devils are improving are arguably radical, including making cuts to the academy, making a series of staff cuts, and moving season ticket seats for more hospitality, although have meant that the club has been able to move forward.

Manchester United’s strategy for this summer, too, is backed by Ratcliffe with the club having up to £250m to spend.

Yet, whilst the summer transfer window approaches, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has also been focused on another project: selling OGC Nice.

A British investment fund have previously been linked with a move, and were reported to be in talks over a move previously.

Ratcliffe, and INEOS, have now been hit with a tough pill to swallow, though, with Get Football News France revealing that the businessman has failed in a pursuit to sell OGC Nice.

The outlet reports that a deal between a American buyer and INEOS was close but ultimately failed. Even with this, though, INEOS remain open to a sale.

In the meantime, Ratcliffe will be tasked at negotiating the summer transfer window at both Nice and Manchester United.

Both clubs have high expectations, with supporters that demand success, making a good transfer window imperative to giving fans confidence ahead of the new season.

Whilst INEOS’ ownership of OGC Nice remains fragile, the company can not let it affect their operations at the club.

Whether a new deal will come for the club in the coming days remains to be seen although, with INEOS and Ratcliffe open to a sale, those at the top of the club could still have their eyes firmly fixed on the possibility of handing control over to another person.
