Football star Cole Palmer has made a cameo in a music flick for Madonna, despite not realising she was famous, as we reported this week.
The 24-year-old Chelsea player appears alongside teammate João Pedro in Confessions II – The Film but has admitted he didn’t know the singer was an A-lister.
But he’s not the only figure from the sport to pop up in a music video, as James Moore reveals…
Vinnie Jones : In 2002 the football hardman starred in the video for Westlife’s song Bop Bop Baby, which went to No5 in the UK charts.
In the yarn he plays a villainous Duke who imprisons the band members, themselves playing Musketeers.

Eric Cantona : Famed for his Kung-Fu kick antics, the French ex-Man Utd star appeared in the video for Liam Gallagher’s 2019 single Once. The soccer legend played The King, with Liam serving him wine as his butler.
The singer said Cantona loved the tune and didn’t want cash for appearing.
Alessandro del Piero : Noel Gallagher became unlikely pals with the Italian striker, who’s an Oasis fan.
He ended up making a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ appearance in the video for the band’s 2007 track Lord Don’t Slow Me Down, signing a shirt for Noel.
Peter Crouch : The ex-England ace makes an hilarious cameo in the video for Gen Single, by the Indie band Peace. He stars as a tracksuit clad driver who gets into a clash with a gang.
The former Stoke City striker joked that he was the “supersub” after someone else pulled out.

Micah Richards & Anton Ferdinand: T2’s 2007 hit Heartbroken has a video featuring ex-England player Richards, and the former West Ham defender chilling in a bar.
The artist’s follow up track Gonna be mine, starred another pair of footballers, Obafemi Martins and Sean Davis.
Jimmy Bullard : In 2013 the football maverick, who played for clubs like Wigan and Hull, bizarrely featured as a bandit builder in a video for a song called John Wayne Enterprise by the band Gorgeous George.
Ronaldinho: Rapper Bad Bunny released a video for his 2023 track Where She Goes, with a cameo from the former Brazilian star. He’s seen showing off his football skills on a beach, though the segment lasts for just a couple of seconds.
Jose Mourinho : The Portuguese manager starred in rapper Stormzy’s video for his 2022 track Mel Made Me Do It, holding his finger up to his lips in reference to his famous “I prefer not to speak” quote.

Harry Kane and co : Dai Dai, starring Shakira, is the official song of the 2026 World Cup and features a host of top players including England’s Harry Kane, Argentina’s Lionel Messi, France’s Kylian Mbappé and Norway’s Erling Haaland.
