Arsenal target Ayyoub Bouaddi has insisted his full focus remains on the World Cup despite increasing speculation surrounding his future.
The Lille midfielder has emerged as one of the most talked-about young players at the tournament after an impressive senior World Cup debut for Morocco.
Bouaddi produced a mature display against Brazil that quickly attracted widespread attention across Europe.
The 18-year-old showcased his technical quality and composure on one of football’s biggest stages as Morocco earned a positive result against the South American giants.
His performance was particularly notable given the calibre of opposition and the pressure surrounding his first appearance at a World Cup.
Bouaddi completed 91 per cent of his passes during the match and was flawless when distributing the ball in the final third.
The midfielder also impressed defensively, recording multiple recoveries and interceptions while helping Morocco compete with one of the tournament favourites.
His display has only intensified transfer interest from several of Europe’s leading clubs.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with the Lille youngster for some time and are understood to have monitored his progress closely throughout the last year.
Reports have suggested sporting director Andrea Berta has already held discussions with people close to the player as Arsenal continue to assess potential midfield additions.
Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have also been credited with interest.
Despite the growing speculation, Bouaddi has made it clear that transfer discussions are not his priority at this stage.
Speaking about the increasing attention surrounding his future, the Morocco international said: “I’m really happy to know that some clubs are interested in me but for now I’m only focused on the World Cup and we will try to give everything to do our best.”
The response reflects the maturity that has become one of the defining features of Bouaddi’s rapid rise.
The teenager only committed his international future to Morocco earlier this year after previously representing France at youth level.
He arrived at the World Cup regarded as one of Ligue 1’s brightest young talents after becoming a regular in Lille’s first team.
Bouaddi has already accumulated significant senior experience despite his age and recently became one of the youngest players in Lille’s history to reach major appearance milestones.
Lille strengthened their position by extending his contract until 2029, meaning any interested club is likely to face a substantial asking price.
That valuation may continue to rise if Bouaddi maintains his current level throughout the tournament.
For Arsenal, his performances will only reinforce the belief that he could become one of Europe’s leading midfielders.
For now, however, the player himself appears focused solely on helping Morocco enjoy a successful World Cup campaign before addressing any decisions regarding his long-term future.
