The news of Aldon Smith passing away this weekend was not only shocking but left countless fans, players, and NFL personnel devastated. During his short time in the league he proved to be one of the most dominant pass rushers in the game while also having the ability to lift those around him.
The San Francisco 49ers announced his death on Saturday and it sent shockwaves throughout the nation. Now, we are finding out more about what he was doing in the moments before he passed.

Aldon Smith’s Actions Moments Before Death Announced
The talented former NFL defensive end, Aldon Smith, donated food to a homeless charity on the last day of his life.
The was confirmed by Smith’s friend Amir Shirazi, who had been with him on Saturday to deliver the food. Shirazi found him unresponsive a short time later.
According to Shirazi, Smith, whose NFL career was interrupted by arrests, suspensions, and other off-field problems, had been turning his life around and truly making an impact on those around him.
“He was a very sweet, caring, loving giant,” Shirazi told the San Francisco Chronicle. “That if you really knew him, you’d know who he truly is.”
“He was perfectly fine an hour before,” Shirazi said. “I came out and he was basically dead in my front seat. I’m just in shock.”
“My impression was that this is a young man that wanted to help the homeless, which was great,” Scott Wagers (co founder of the charity) said. “When the 49ers and people like that want to help the community, that’s everything.”
Shirazi and Smith drove to Shirazi’s house after making the delivery. After stepping inside for a moment, Shirazi returned outside to find Smith slumped over in Shirazi’s truck. He does not know the cause of Smith’s death, but believes that it was due to natural causes.
Shirazi and Smith unexpectedly arrived with 10 pizzas on Saturday, according to Scott Wagers, the founder of CHAM Deliverance Ministry.
According to reports, Smith visited the 49ers’ facility recently in an effort to encourage young players to follow the right path. This passing is truly devastating and once again serves as a reminder of how precious life is.
