A summer window Liverpool must get right

Richard Hughes will know this summer will be pivotal for him.

One player he has reportedly identified is Ayyoub Bouaddi. The 18-year-old Moroccan was exceptional in his country’s 1-1 opening World Cup fixture against Brazil.

The Lille midfielder caught the eye in a commanding display in the middle of the field.

Having previously featured for France youth sides he changed his allegiance just before the World Cup. The midfielder featured as recently as March for the U20 French side.

He spoke to The Athletic after the game: “I’m really happy to know that some clubs are interested in me but for now I’m only focused on the WC and we will try to give everything to do our best.”

Liverpool make direct contact for Bouaddi

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Liverpool have made “direct contact” for the sought after midfielder.

“Liverpool have had direct contacts for Ayyoub Bouaddi. They have had meetings with the agents of the player”, Romano said on his YouTube channel.

Arsenal have also expressed their interest.

Bouaddi won an incredible mince duels against Brazil, completely 16 out of 16 passes into the final third.
