The New York Knicksmade history on Saturday, ending their 53-year NBA championship drought. Jalen Brunson spearheaded the team’s charge with 45 points and earned Finals MVP honors.
Celebrities, including Russell Wilson’s wife, Ciara, congratulated Brunson and the Knicks for their championship.The singer-songwriter watched Brunson and Co. rally from 16 points down in Game 5 to win 94-90.
The Knicks also made history on Wednesday by overcoming a 29-point deficit in Game 4. It was the largest comeback in the NBA Finals, sending New York City into a frenzy. OG Anunoby’s game-winning tip with 1.2 seconds left gave the team only its second lead of the game, but it was enough to secure a 3-1 series lead.

Russell Wilson’s Wife Ciara Congratulates Knicks
Ciara took to social media shortly after the Knicks’ Game 5 victory. The long-time Knicks supporter joined the rest of New York City in celebrating the historic championship.
“These. Are. The. Good Times 🫶🏽🗽”she wrote.
The 40-year-old grew up as a military brat. She has ties to New York after spending part of her childhood in the city. Ciara also often attends sports and entertainment events in The Big Apple. She was also with her husband when he played the final year of his career with the New York Giants this past season.
Meanwhile, her husband announced hisNFL retirement on June 3. Wilson played 14 seasons, suiting up for the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers and Giants. He won a Super Bowl in 2014, earned Pro Bowl honors 10 times and was the Rookie of the Year in 2012. He hung his cleats up for good after completing 3,951 of 6,120 passes for 46,966 yards and 353 touchdowns.
However, he is not leaving football entirely. Wilson will join CBS Sports’ studio analysts team for its Sunday pregame show. Having recently played in the league, he will provide valuable insights into the game and a unique perspective on the NFL.
