Liverpool's potential move for Bournemouth winger Rayan has piqued the interest of his former club, Vasco da Gama, as reports claim that a FIFA rule could kick in surrounding a deal.
The Brazilian has emerged as a potential target for the Reds in a possible reunion with Andoni Iraola, following a short spell of the pair working together. Rayan joined the Cherries for a $34 million fee in January as a replacement for Antoine Semenyo, and it took no time for the youngster to settle into life in the Premier League.
In just 15 league appearances, the tricky winger picked up five goals and two assists, along with a whole host of impressive performances.
That has naturally led to some very quick transfer interest from other clubs, including Liverpool, as reports claim that Rayan is a target for the future of the right wing.
A move isn't likely to go through this summer.
But a switch from January could be on the cards for the Brazilian, as talks continue to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.

While links persist over a potential deal, Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte once again reiterates that Liverpool is interested in a move for Rayan as an option for the wide areas.
However, that move is being intensely monitored by his former club, Vasco da Gama, because the Brazilian team is due some financial compensation for any potential sell-on for the youngster.
The FIFA solidarity mechanism means that the club responsible for a player's development will be entitled to a share of the transfer fee received for a player.
That move could end up generating a large financial boost for Vasco, which may ultimately play a part in the valuation that Bournemouth sets on the star, if he is available to leave.
Liverpool will be hoping that the extra cut taken out of the fee won't hike the overall price too much, with the Reds already facing a potentially large fee to land the 19-year-old.

Any switch could prove to be rather quick, given that the tricky winger only joined Bournemouth back in January, and there is still more to come from him in the future.
If he continues to put in the performances going into next season, then another transfer seems almost inevitable, especially for a club the size of Liverpool.
However, transfer priorities will be set elsewhere before possibly circling back to Rayan in the future.
