Arsenal are reportedly among several top European clubs competing to sign highly-rated Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi following his impressive performances for Morocco at the World Cup.
The 18-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in European football and further enhanced his growing reputation during Morocco’s 1-1 draw against Brazil on Saturday. Despite his age, Bouaddi displayed remarkable composure and maturity on the international stage, attracting increased attention from Premier League giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Reports suggest Arsenal have already held discussions regarding a potential move as Mikel Arteta continues to strengthen his squad with young, high-potential players. Liverpool are also believed to have opened talks, while Chelsea and PSG have been closely monitoring the midfielder’s progress for some time.
Bouaddi recently signed a new contract with Lille, extending his stay at the French club until 2029. While the extension secures his long-term future on paper, it also strengthens Lille’s negotiating position amid growing transfer interest. The Ligue 1 side are under no immediate pressure to sell and are expected to demand at least £60 million for their prized asset.
That valuation could rise even further if Bouaddi continues to impress during the World Cup. The Morocco international has already shown he can perform at the highest level despite having only recently made his senior international debut.
After making 42 appearances for Lille last season and helping the club qualify for the Champions League, Bouaddi’s stock continues to rise, making him one of the most sought-after young midfielders in world football.
