Alan Shearer says it's no surprise to see Liverpool looking to do business for wingers this summer with both Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola being assessed

Alan Shearer believes Liverpool need to strengthen significantly this summer if they are to challenge for the Premier League title under Andoni Iraola.
And the Premier League's all-time scorer says it is no surprise to learn of Anfield interest in winger Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola following Mohamed Salah's end-of-season exit.
Salah called time on a glittering Anfield career last month when he played his 442nd and final match for the club in a 1-1 draw with Brentford to end the campaign with a fifth-place finish and Champions League qualification.
Liverpool are in talks with RB Leipzig over a potential deal for Ivory Coast winger Diomande. However, the Bundesliga side are reluctant to sell the 19-year-old, who has fast emerged as one of the rising stars in Germany's top division.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain winger Barcola has reportedly been told he can leave the European champions and the Reds have been credited with an interest.
And Shearer can see why the Reds would want both widemen this summer.
"Liverpool are going to have to go again in the transfer market," the Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United legend told Betfair.
"Mohamed Salah's gone, so they obviously need someone to replace him. They've also got Rio Ngumoha, who's obviously a great talent, but for the future.
"So Liverpool need several players, I think, if they want to compete again at the very top. And certainly, in wide positions they're going to have to strengthen.
"I'm not surprised with who they're being linked with like Diomande and Barcola.
"I guess it's only a matter of time before that that would be the position that they announce."
As well as waving Salah goodbye at the end of the campaign, Liverpool also saw Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson play their final games for the club last month.
