Offer on the way to convince Liverpool – Deal with Nottingham Forest will help

Inter Milan are expected to make a new offer for Liverpool‘s Curtis Jones and Nottingham Forest can help in that.

In January, something similar was close to happening. Davide Frattesi was close to heading to the City Ground but the move hinged on whether Jones ended up at the San Siro.

As Liverpool refused to sanction the midfielder’s departure, the Italian also stayed at Inter. Sport Witness covered this extensively and the move is being revived.

Now, things could be progressing. Frattesi is nearing a move to the Midlands and this can lead to movement on the Jones front.

Second bid incoming

Today’s TuttoSport relays certainty that Frattesi will leave Inter. He is open to joining Nottingham Forest, who are closing in on a permanent transfer.

This will hand Inter the finances to sign Jones.

The newspaper mention that an initial bid for the Englishman has been rejected. They offered €20m to Liverpool towards the end of June but the Reds put forward a €30m demand.

Now, Inter are prepared to hit the middle ground and offer €25m.

They will also hand Liverpool a ‘good’ resale fee, which is what the Merseyside club have demanded for a while. This is giving rise to hope that the ‘green light’ could soon come.

If Nottingham Forest pay €25m for Frattesi, then Jones is the following domino.

Deal moving exactly as expected

Denzel Dumfries is set to join Real Madrid, but that deal may not take place before the World Cup ends.

Frattesi can leave much earlier, handing Inter funds in the middle of the World Cup.

As things stand, Liverpool will surely be inclined to accept a reasonable offer. Jones has refused to sign a new deal, with his current contract running out in 2027.

The player is keen on the transfer and he is now expected to get his transfer wish.
