Federico Chiesa has reportedly made up his mind over his future at Liverpool, with the winger determined to stay at Anfield and fight for his place under new head coach Andoni Iraola, despite renewed interest from Italy.
According to journalist Mirko Di Natale, Chiesa wants to remain at Liverpool.

While he has been linked with a return to Juventus, as well as a move to Como, the 28 year old is reportedly determined to earn a starting role under Iraola, with only a decision from the club to actively move him on likely to change that stance.
The links to Italy are not new.
Juventus were keen on re signing Chiesa as far back as January, with Italian media at the time suggesting the move was close to happening and the player himself open to a return to Turin.
Liverpool’s stance on a fee, however, made any deal difficult, and the transfer never materialised.
That decision to remain at Liverpool over the winter did little to change his role on the pitch.
Across the 2025/26 season, Chiesa was used almost exclusively as an attacking depth option and late game impact substitute under Arne Slot, with heavy competition in wide areas and careful management of his fitness limiting him to short cameo appearances throughout the campaign.
The numbers tell their own story.
Chiesa made 33 appearances across all competitions this season but started just twice, totalling only 686 minutes.
In the Premier League, he featured 23 times for a single start and 278 minutes, contributing 2 goals and 1 assist.
He added 5 Champions League appearances and a goal in 78 minutes, 3 FA Cup outings including one start, and 2 EFL Cup appearances in which he provided 2 assists in 180 minutes.
Overall, Chiesa finished the season with 3 goals and 3 assists, a combined 6 goal contributions in 686 minutes, working out at one goal involvement every 114.3 minutes.
He picked up 4 yellow cards and no reds across the campaign.
Despite the limited minutes, his underlying numbers in the Premier League suggest he remained sharp when called upon.
He outperformed his expected goals of 1.50 by scoring twice, took 17 shots with 5 on target, and created 3 chances, two of which were classed as big chances.
He completed 81 passes at a 71.7 percent accuracy rate, and contributed defensively too, with 30 defensive actions including 8 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 9 ball recoveries, showing willingness to engage with the squad’s pressing demands even in a reduced role.
Slot’s departure appears to be the key factor behind Chiesa’s change of heart.
With Iraola now taking charge at Anfield, Chiesa reportedly sees an opportunity to reset and push for more consistent minutes in a side undergoing wider changes this summer.
From a footballing perspective, the decision still raises questions.
Como would offer Champions League football, while Juventus could offer regular Serie A minutes.
But having shown flashes of quality even from the bench, Chiesa appears to believe he can do more with a genuine chance, and for now his future rests in Liverpool’s hands.
