Manchester United have been told that Austria midfielder Nicolas Seiwald could be the perfect replacement for Casemiro this summer. The 25-year-old is predicted to be one of the breakout stars of this summer’s World Cup.
United have already been active in the transfer window, having agreed a £34 million, plus £3.8 million in add-on fees, for Atalanta midfielder Ederson. It’s reported that the Brazilian was due to undergo a medical on Sunday, while away with Brazil at the World Cup.
However, Michael Carrick is expected to further strengthen his midfield options. One of the players ideally would be a ready-made replacement for Casemiro.

The Brazilian has left United this summer, after an influential season at Old Trafford, where he helped the club to qualify for the Champions League. The World Cup could be the perfect place to find some hidden gems.
While eyes will be on the big-name players, the World stage gives other lesser-known stars the chance to show what they can do and be noticed by clubs. AI humanizing tool GoHumanize has picked out Seiwald as a player who could be the perfect Casemiro replacement for United.

The AI technology uses advanced performance data around the world. It was asked to pick out the under-the-radar talents who will make a big impact on the tournament.
Seiwald was one of the players selected. The RB Leipzig man plays as a defensive midfielder, described as a ‘relentless, high-volume interceptor.’
The 25-year-old has 47 caps for Austria and looks set to start their first game of the tournament vs Jordan in the early hours of Wednesday morning. He started his career with RB Salzburg before moving to Leipzig in 2023.

Seiwald is currently valued at around £19 million, but is predicted to rise to £38.9 by the end of the World Cup. United could therefore save around £20 million should they make a move early.
Other midfielders flagged by the AI tool are Kevin Castano of Colombia, Adalberto Carrasquilla of Panama and Luka Sucic of Croatia.
United are likely to be keeping a close eye on several players throughout the tournament, including Ederson. The club have also been linked with England midfielder Elliot Anderson.
