The Liverpool transfer market is active again. The Reds are seeking Khephren Thuram. The French midfielder currently plays for Juventus.
Liverpool set for Man Utd clash to secure Thuram
Liverpool recently made an ‘enquiry’ for the 25-year-old Thuram. As reported by TEAMtalk, initial discussions about his amount were made. Apparently, a deal could be made between €45 million and €50 million for the French midfielder.
Interestingly, the Reds aren’t the only club interested in Thuram. Turkish club Galatasaray have enquired about the French player as well. Even Manchester United have shown their interest in Thuram. Thuram joined Juventus in 2024. He also played for Nice. Thuram represented the senior team and the reserve team of the French club between 2019 and 2024. Before that, he played for Monaco between 2018 and 2019.

How can Khephren Thuram benefit from potential entry to Liverpool?
If Liverpool secures Thuram, he has a promising future ahead. The Reds are undergoing a massive overhaul. They particularly need a better midfield side. That’s one of the reasons Andoni Iraola is seeking multiple midfielders. Apart from Thuram, midfielders like Adam Wharton, Lamine Camara, Mateus Fernandes, and Arda Guler are also on the Reds’ priority list.
Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League. Liverpool also faced early exits in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. They were eliminated in the quarterfinal stage of the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League. This is why Arne Slot got replaced by Iraola as the team manager.
Thuram faced a similar experience last year. This is because Juventus finished sixth in the Serie A for the 2025-26 season. Consequently, they missed out on the qualification for 2026-27 UEFA Champions League.
Future gameplan for Khephren Thuram
Liverpool is interested in Khephren Thuram. However, there is a long way to go before he officially joins the Anfield. For now, Thuram could focus on working on his fitness. He suffered two injuries in the previous season : a calf injury in October 2025 and a bone bruise in February 2026. Luckily, both weren’t too serious. Thuram has nothing much to be concerned about on the disciplinary front.
Thuram performed well individually. However, his performance wasn’t enough to secure him a place in the French team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Interestingly, his brother Marcus Thuram is a part of the French **football**team participating in the FIFA World Cup.
Les Bleus are placed in group I of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They’ll commence their campaign against Senegal on June 17. Subsequently, the French team will face Iraq on June 23. Their final group match will be played against Norway on June 27. The French team had won the 2018 edition and finished runners-up in the 2022 edition. Head coach Didier Deschamps is hopeful of repeating the same performance in this edition.
Liverpool barely made it to the 2026-27 Champions League. However, Iraola knows that merely qualifying is not enough. Moreover, he knows that he cannot afford to repeat the previous mistakes. The Reds need to get back to winning ways. Thuram’s potential entry at Anfield will prove to be a bonus. The French midfielder is brilliant in terms of dribbling and transition. His expertise in the midfield is precisely what the Reds desperately need.
