Mason Greenwood has had a sensational rise in form again after moving to Marseille back in 2024 for £26.6 million.
The five-year deal saw Greenwood join the French side where he’s made 81 appearances, scoring 48 goals and grabbing 17 assists, beign vital to the Ligue 1 club.
However, he looks to have played his last game for Marseille as the former Manchester United attacker is reportedly looking to move this summer.
Recently, Fenerbahce have been linked with the 24-year-old, in their bid to prepare for the Champions League next season.
As part of the club’s presidential election, candidate Hakan Safi claimed to have had an agreement with Greenwood to join the Istanbul-based side should he have won the election.
However, Aziz Yildirim won with a landslide vote of 17,245 votes to Safi’s 9,927 to win the election and become the club’s new president.
As such, Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that the move for Mason Greenwood is off the table with Fenerbahce, however that doesn’t mean all options are off the table.
Romano goes on to explain that AS Roma are understood to be interested, with the side readying an offer, with Marseille wanting around £43.2 million to £47.5 million (€50 million to €55 million) for their star.
This matters for United as during their deal to part ways with Mason Greedwood, a sizable sell-on clause was agreed, expected to be around 50%.
As such, The Red Devils are set to recieve a decent windfall for any move, boosting their transfer funds this summer.
