Arsenal are reportedly planning to launch an audacious swoop to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, as per Sky Sports.
Since moving to Parc des Princes from Napoli, the 25-year-old has enjoyed great success over the last 18 months, winning two Ligue 1 titles, as many Champions League trophies, and numerous other major cup competitions.
The Georgian international showcased his productivity in the last campaign, scoring 18 goals and registering 10 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.
Now, Sky Sports report that Arsenal are prioritising reinforcing the left flank and have identified Kvaratskhelia as a serious option, having been impressed by his recent eye-catching performances.
Aston Villa ace Morgan Rogers is Arsenal’s primary target to bolster the frontline, but the Gunners will have to wait until the end of his World Cup campaign with England to secure his service.
Therefore, Arsenal have lined up alternative options, but Les Parisiens have no intention of letting their star man leave, with Kvaratskhelia’s existing deal set to run until 2029.
The report state that apart from Rogers and Kvaratskhelia, Arsenal are also interested in Bradley Barcola, Jean-Matteo Bahoya, and Yan Diomande.
The North London club previously expressed their interest in Anthony Gordon, but he has decided to join Barcelona.
Kvaratskhelia to Arsenal
Kvaratskhelia is valued at around £121m by Transfermarkt, and Arsenal will have to launch an unrefusable proposal to persuade Luis Enrique’s side to let him leave.
The PSG star is a left-winger by trait, but is comfortable on the opposite side as well. He is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and also works hard without possession.
The forward has proven his worth at the highest level and is currently at the prime stage of his career. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.
Arteta currently has Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard as left-wing options, but the duo displayed inconsistent performances last term, even though Arsenal won the Premier League title.
It is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to lure Kvaratskhelia away from Parc des Princes in this transfer window.
