İstanbul Başakşehir’s Abbosbek Fayzullaev has emerged as a surprise target for Liverpool.
The Uzbekistan international left his country to join CSKA Moscow in August 2023 and two years later, he moved to the Süper Lig.
In his first season in Turkey, he played 1,397 minutes from 27 matches.
The right winger still managed to impress, scoring four goals and contributing seven assists. His form has seen Liverpool take notice.
Fayzullaev played a part in helping his country qualify for the World Cup and they will start their campaign against Colombia on Thursday.
Attacker on Liverpool agenda
The 22-year-old has already caught the attention of the Premier League side’s scouts.
That’s according to Zamin in Uzbekistan, who make it clear it’s their own information on Liverpool.
Abbosbek Fayzullaev has been under serious observations from Andoni Iraola’s new side. In other words, the Reds have closely followed his performances for both club and country.
The Merseyside club’s scouts will also watch him at the World Cup. The outlet say experts are indicating the winger’s style of play would suit the Premier League.
If the İstanbul Başakşehir player continues to impress on the pitch, there can be a ‘major turning point’ in his career that can see him end up in England. It feels like the outlet are creating hype around the Uzbek after Liverpool scouts followed him.
Liverpool need new right winger
Mohamed Salah has left and Federico Chiesa recently said he wants regular game time. If that’s not available at Liverpool, he wants to find it elsewhere.
On Monday, we relayed news that the Italian wants to fight for his place at Anfield, after Arne Slot’s exit.
Abbosbek Fayzullaev can be an option but certainly won’t be a priority for the Reds this summer. Either way, the English club will watch him at the World Cup.
Uzbekistan’s World Cup fixtures are as follows:
v Colombia on June 18th [UK time]
v Portugal on June 22nd
v DR Congo on June 28th [UK time]
