West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville is being monitored by Manchester United this summer. United were prepared to try to sign Antoine Semenyo in the January transfer window to play on the left flank.

United have considered left winger options in the market since Semenyo joined Manchester City, and Summerville is on the club's list of targets for that position.

Summerville is currently at the World Cup with the Netherlands. The 24-year-old scored for his nation in their opening World Cup game against Japan on Sunday night, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Summerville is valued at around £50million by West Ham, who have been relegated to the Championship. United are also pushing ahead in an attempt to sign midfielder Mateus Fernandes from the Hammers.

Fernandes is seen as a suitable alternative to Elliot Anderson, who United have effectively stepped away from due to Nottingham Forest's valuation.

United's interest in Summerville raises the possibility of a double transfer from West Ham, who won just 10 games this term and dropped to the second tier after 14 seasons in the top-flight.

West Ham insist they do not have to sell their best players, but they are considered attainable by Premier League clubs.

Patrick Dorgu impressed on the left wing for United in January, scoring against City and Arsenal, but he picked up a hamstring injury at the Emirates, which kept him out for nine weeks and limited his sample size in that role.

Summerville joined West Ham from Leeds in the summer of 2024 in a £25m deal. The winger had been named as the 2023/2024 Championship Player of the Year before sealing a transfer away from Elland Road.

The Dutchman contributed seven goals and five assists for West Ham last season.
