Transfer bombshell: Man Utd 'considering to meet' £50m price tag for former Leeds star

Manchester United have reportedly identified a new attacking target as they continue shaping their squad for the upcoming campaign.

According to The Athletic, Man United are paying serious attention to West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville.

United have enquired about his situation and been told that the Hammers are looking for a fee of around £50 million, as he still has three years remaining on his contract.

The Red Devils are considering meeting his price tag as they believe he can thrive in the UEFA Champions League.

Summerville could be a smart signing

Summerville first rose to prominence at Leeds United, where he made 91 appearances in three years.

His first season at West Ham proved difficult but he responded strongly last campaign.

He scored seven goals and provided five assists in 34 games across all competitions. Interestingly, all of his goals came in 2026.

Those numbers become even more impressive when you consider that they were produced in a side that ultimately suffered relegation.

Summerville scored for the Netherlands in the 2-2 draw with Japan, further catching the attention of senior figures at United.

After collecting possession on the edge of the penalty area, he unleashed a curling left-footed effort that left the goalkeeper with no chance.

It is easy to see why the Red Devils are interested in signing the Dutch international.

Summerville is primarily a left winger blessed with explosive acceleration, quick feet and the confidence to attack defenders.

Matheus Cunha is the first-choice option on the left wing under manager Michael Carrick.

Patrick Dorgu has also been effective in advanced positions. The addition of Summerville would create genuine competition for places and significantly improve squad depth.

It could also allow Dorgu to focus more regularly on developing as a left-back while still offering attacking flexibility when required.

If United can secure a deal worth around £40m-£50m including add-ons, it could represent a smart piece of business.
