Outgoing Manchester United midfielder Casemiro faces a strange hurdle ahead of a proposed move to Inter Miami. The Brazilian international has agreed terms to link up with Lionel Messi next season in the MLS, but LA Galaxy are asking for £750,000 for their discovery rights for the midfielder.

The Daily Mail says LA Galaxy were the first MLS club to register interest in the Brazilian, with Casemiro and his representatives holding talks earlier in the season. LA Galaxy made a contract offer to Casemiro, but his heart is set elsewhere.

The former United midfielder met up with David Beckham's franchise and has his heart set on joining Inter Miami after a trip to the club with his family.

Galaxy has the priority right to negotiate with Casemiro due to the discovery rights, regulations that stop MLS clubs from battling with one another in talks to sign players.

The Discover List allows clubs to have first refusal on players who are not on the MLS roster and are not eligible via other routes, such as the draft.

Every MLS club is allowed to place five players on their discovery list, and just because a player is on a list that is no guarantee they will sign.

United, meanwhile, searching for a replacement for Casemiro this summer and have agreed a deal to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson.

The outgoing Reds midfielder reportedly gave the club his blessing to sign his fellow Brazilian, with United agreeing a £39m deal and a medical planned later this month.

Ederson is set to be the first signing of Michael Carrick's tenure as permanent manager at Old Trafford and he has big boots to fill.

Fellow Brazilian Matheus Cunha has revealed he tried his best to convince Casemiro to stay at Old Trafford this summer.

Speaking to the Spanish mdia outlet AS, Cunha said: "All the Manchester United fans and I did! Casemiro is one of our club’s great players, and he would undoubtedly help us a lot if he stayed here.

"He was one of the players who welcomed me with open arms when I arrived, and I’m very grateful to him for that. If I could, I’d make him stay with us for another year. I wish him every success in the future."
