The late Diogo Jota has been voted 57th in Liverpool’s list of their greatest players of all time, with the striker’s impact on the club earning him a place in history.
Liverpool continue to release the rankings in their ‘Liverpool’s Greatest’ list with a number of recent favourites already making the cut.
This week saw Jota’s placing revealed, with the Portuguese voted No. 57 of all time.
It comes ahead of the anniversary of his death, with the 28-year-old and his brother Andre losing their lives in a tragic car crash on July 3, 2025.

“The Portuguese forward produced a litany of special moments for the club’s supporters during his five seasons at Anfield.
“He arrived as a proven Premier League goalscorer from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020 and backed himself to force his way into Liverpool’s superlative front line.
“It is safe to say he did that and more.”
Liverpool retired the No. 20 shirt following Jota’s death and a permanent memorial has now been unveiled outside Anfield.

The Portugal national team have honoured the Porto-born striker at this summer’s World Cup, with midfielder Vitinha revealing that prime minister Luis Montenegro had gifted them commemorative wristbands that can be worn during games.
“They made sure that it was a wristband that we could wear on the pitch,” he told reporters last week.
“It has all the specifics for us to be able to enter the pitch with it, with the name of all the players plus the special name of Diogo Jota.
“We received it with a lot of affection and we chose to use it.”
