The transfer window has officially opened and Coventry City are free to make signings ahead of their Premier League return.
Since sealing promotion the Sky Blues have been linked with scores of players, including an unsuccessful bid for last season’s loan goalkeeper Carl Rushworth.
They are set to formally sign Frank Onyeka on July 1, a move that will see his loan become a permanent deal as Frank Lampard looks to keep the players who did so well last term.
In the meantime the rumour mill grinds relentlessly on, here’s a round-up of the latest doing the rounds.
Lois Openda
City have been credited with an interest in the Juventus flop since the season ended – and since Juve were obliged to buy the striker from RB Leipzig despite his underwhelming campaign in Turin.
The 26-year-old scored just once in 24 Serie A games and like team-mate Jonathan David is surely on his way out, with Premier League clubs linked.
Along with the Sky Blues, Leeds have been linked and fresh reports have emerged that he has also been offered to Everton, as Juventus look to recoup some of the £40million they had to fork out.
And now Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness, claim new CEO Giovanni Carnevalli is happy to loan out the Belgium international, with Nottingham Forest also set to be keen. Their report suggests City are only interested in a loan too.

Ethan Nwaneri
The Arsenal teenager was linked with the Sky Blues at the end of May, with City one of eight suitors that also included Ipswich, Como, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Everton, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
The Athletic say Arsenal ‘face a decision on the future of 19-year-old’, whether to loan out or sell permanently.
He set a record as Arsenal's youngest player when he made his debut in September 2022 at the age of 15 years and 181 days - and he has gone on to already play 51 times for the first team.
Nwaneri was let out to Marseille in January but his action was limited after being taken off at half-time against Paris Saint-Germain on February 8.
The teen was part of the wider England group for the final warm-up match against Miami United last week and scored in a 6-0 victory before leaving the main squad.
Hamza Abdelkarim
City are reported to be keen on Barcelona striker Hamza Abdelkarim, along with Norwich City and Sheffield United.
The 18-year-old Egyptian was loaned from Al-Ahly to Barca’s second team in January since when Barca opted to sign him permanently for €1.5 m.
Clubs were reportedly keen on taking him on loan for the 2026/27 campaign but Spanish outlet Marca are reporting Hansi Flick wants to assess him during their pre-season programme, to determine the next step.
That would leave suitors needing to bide their time – and hold their nerve in the eventuality that he is not loaned out at all.
